Collaboration Delivers Wellbeing in Manufacturing

Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) is leading this collaborative project to improve the mental health and wellbeing of workers and to prevent mental illness and the incidence of mental injury in manufacturing workplaces across Victoria.

Collaborating with the manufacturing industry

This project is a joint collaboration between Health and Safety Representatives, Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union (AMWU) delegates, workers and employers. It will provide the foundation for lasting, co-operative relationships at the workplace level.

The project seeks to:

  • identify and mitigate work related risk factors that contribute to psychological ill health and mental injury
  • raise mental health literacy in the workplace and promote a positive workplace culture that supports mental health and wellbeing
  • play an active role in helping to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of workers to promote psychological health and safety
  • reduce the stigma around mental health issues and uphold a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in the workplace
