Identifying and preventing workplace mental health issues in the automotive industry

The project will target employers and employees engaged in small and medium business in the Automotive retail, service and repair sectors.

Employers will be assisted to assess workplace practices and cultures, and implement a mental health action plan that is tailored to the workers' needs and addresses work-related factors that impact mental health.

The project will be delivered by the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) in partnership with Alcohol and Drug Awareness Australia (ADAA) and will include specialist facilitators to engage (via workplace visits) with Victorian automotive businesses, adopting a consultative approach.

This activity will be further be supported by the establishment of regional and metropolitan hubs, which will help to build capacity in the workplace around creating a mentally healthy workplace.
