Preventing mental injury in manufacturing
This project is a partnership between Convenience Advertising, Institute for Breathing and Sleep and Monash University (Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health) who are developing a number of intervention to address work-related factors that influence workplace mental health.
To identify and design the necessary interventions, the partnership has developed an innovative mental health, wellbeing and sleep tool to create baseline data. Interventions may include but not be limited to, rostering and scheduling practices, environmental controls such as lighting and sleep factors, and prevention focused driver safety measures.
This program is being piloted at Hazeldene's Chickens, the second largest employer in greater Bendigo, Victoria.
To share the project learnings, a round table discussion will be held for leaders and stakeholders across the manufacturing industry. The pilot project will be used to create the foundation for ongoing discussion and system level change to prevent mental injury within the manufacturing industry.
